Climate and Engineering for Western Australia
WA spans everything from the Mediterranean climate of Perth and the South-West to the tropical north. Our shed homes are engineered for your specific location – including cyclone ratings for northern regions, corrosion resistance for coastal sites, and thermal performance for extreme heat. Every kit includes 7-star NatHERS energy certification.
We Deliver to These Western Australia Regions
Building Approvals in WA
Approval Authority: Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (Building and Energy)
WA requires a Building Permit from your local government authority. Most residential builds also need Development Approval (DA) or Planning Approval. Our kit includes full architectural drawings, engineered drawings, and NatHERS certification. For coastal or cyclone-rated areas, we include the additional engineering specifications required.
Bushfire Ratings (BAL)
WA has designated bushfire-prone areas mapped by the Office of Bushfire Risk Management. Properties in these areas need a BAL assessment and may require a Bushfire Management Plan. We design to BAL 12.5 through BAL 40, with BAL FZ available on application.
Owner-Builders in WA
WA allows owner-builders with a Building Permit from the local government. There is no formal owner-builder licence requirement in WA, but you must comply with the Building Act 2011. Our Kit Supply and Base Kit packages suit WA owner-builders.
For full details on approvals, timelines, and documentation, see our Building Approvals by State page.
