Climate and Engineering for New South Wales
NSW covers a wide range of climate zones – from coastal temperate to alpine in the Snowy Mountains and semi-arid out west. Our shed homes are engineered for your specific site conditions including wind speed, bushfire risk, and thermal performance. Every kit includes a 7-star NatHERS energy certification tailored to your location.
We Deliver to These New South Wales Regions
Building Approvals in NSW
Approval Authority: NSW Fair Trading and local councils
NSW offers two pathways: a Development Application (DA) through your local council, or a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) through a private certifier for straightforward builds on suitable land. CDC is faster – often 10 business days. Our kit includes full architectural drawings, engineered drawings, and NatHERS certification for either pathway.
Bushfire Ratings (BAL)
NSW has strict bushfire planning requirements, particularly in Bush Fire Prone Land mapped areas. We design to BAL 12.5 through BAL 40, with BAL FZ available on application. A Bushfire Assessment Report (BAR) may be required – your certifier or a bushfire consultant can arrange this.
Owner-Builders in NSW
NSW allows owner-builders for residential work valued over $10,000 with an Owner-Builder Permit. You will need to complete an approved owner-builder course. Our Kit Supply and Base Kit packages suit NSW owner-builders who want control of their build.
For full details on approvals, timelines, and documentation, see our Building Approvals by State page.
