Steel Frame Kits for Home Office, Salon & Studio

Why a $12,000 Garden Pod Won’t Cut It

The backyard office market is full of small pods and flat-pack cabins. They look good on Instagram. But here’s what you’re actually getting:

A $12,000 pod gives you 10 m² of space. Our Noosa kit starts from $82,900 and gives you 198 m² — that’s nearly 20 times the space for roughly 7 times the price. And it adds permanent value to your property.

One Kit, Dozens of Uses

Our steel frame kits are designed for residential living — but a home business building uses exactly the same structure. Same engineering, same COLORBOND® cladding, same portal frame. You just fit it out differently.

Home Offices & Studios

Working from home is permanent for millions of Australians. A dedicated home office building gives you a proper workspace with a proper door between work and home.

Hair Salons & Beauty Studios

Plumbing for wash basins, styling stations, a waiting area, and a separate entrance — all properly built and council-approved.

Therapy & Consulting Rooms

Psychologists, physios, accountants — any home-based practice that sees clients needs a professional space with soundproofing and a separate entrance.

Home Gyms & Training Studios

Personal trainers, yoga instructors, or anyone who wants a proper home gym. Clear-span steel means no columns, high ceilings, and room for equipment.

Art Studios & Workshops

Artists, woodworkers, ceramicists, mechanics. High ceilings, good ventilation, large doors, and the space to spread out.

Dog Grooming & Pet Services

Drainage, washable floors, ventilation, a separate entrance for clients. A purpose-built space is the difference between a hobby and a business.

Built to Business Standards — Not Garden Shed Standards

The biggest reason to build a separate structure isn’t the space — it’s the boundary. Your clients don’t walk through your living room. Your kids don’t interrupt your Zoom calls. Your salon isn’t in your bathroom. Your gym isn’t in your garage.

A separate building means your business is professional and your home stays private.

What Size Do You Actually Need?

Solo home office 15–40 m²
Office + meeting room 30–80 m²
Home salon (1–2 chairs) 25–60 m²
Home salon (3+ chairs + waiting) 50–120 m²
Therapy / consulting room 20–50 m²
Home gym / PT studio 40–100 m²
Art studio / workshop 30–100 m²

Every model can be customised. If you only need 60 m², we can design a 60 m² building. If you need 300 m² with a workshop, office, and showroom, we can do that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I build a home salon from a steel frame kit?

Yes. Our kits include the full structural frame, cladding, and engineering. You fit out the interior for your salon — plumbing for wash basins, electrical for dryers and lighting, ventilation, and whatever your business needs.

How much does a home office building cost?

Kit supply starts from $82,900 for our Noosa model (198 m² total). For a smaller custom design — say 40–60 m² for a dedicated office — pricing depends on size, wind region, and specifications. Contact us for a quote.

Do I need council approval for a backyard office?

In most cases, yes — a permanent building on your property requires a development application or complying development certificate. Our kits include architectural and engineering drawings designed for council submission.

Can I live in it AND run a business from it?

Absolutely. Many of our models combine living areas with workspace. A combined live-work setup is one of the most practical uses of a shed home.
