Building Approvals in TAS
Approval Authority: Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS)
Tasmania requires a planning permit from your local council and a building permit from a Building Surveyor. Our kit includes full architectural drawings, engineered drawings, and NatHERS certification – everything your Building Surveyor and council need.
Bushfire Ratings (BAL)
Tasmania has bushfire-prone area mapping. Properties in these areas need a BAL assessment under AS 3959. We design to BAL 12.5 through BAL 40, with BAL FZ available. The Tasmanian Fire Service provides bushfire-prone area mapping.
Owner-Builders in TAS
Tasmania allows owner-builders to build their own home. You must notify CBOS and take out the required insurance. Our Kit Supply and Base Kit packages suit Tasmanian owner-builders who want to manage their own project.
