Climate and Engineering for Queensland
Queensland spans climate zones from subtropical in the south-east to tropical in the north. Our shed homes are engineered for high wind regions (up to Region C cyclone ratings), designed with ventilation and veranda living in mind, and insulated to meet NatHERS energy ratings for your specific location. Every kit includes a 7-star energy certification.
We Deliver to These Queensland Regions
Building Approvals in QLD
Approval Authority: Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC)
Queensland requires Development Approval (DA) from your local council, followed by a Building Approval from a private building certifier or council. Our kit includes full architectural drawings, engineered drawings, and NatHERS certification – everything your certifier needs to issue approval. We handle the technical documentation so you can focus on your build.
Bushfire Ratings (BAL)
Many QLD properties in bushfire-prone areas require a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessment. We design to BAL 12.5 through BAL 40, with BAL FZ (Flame Zone) available on application. Steel framing gives you an inherent advantage in bushfire areas.
Owner-Builders in QLD
Queensland allows owner-builders for projects valued over $11,000 with a current Owner Builder permit from the QBCC. Our Base Kit and Kit Supply packages are popular with QLD owner-builders who want to manage their own trades.
For full details on approvals, timelines, and documentation, see our Building Approvals by State page.
